The work on the updated version of coding started in 1998 when the initial system of coding had been reconstructed in full. The principal criterion in updating was that the basis of the initial system should be preserved and no major changes made unless absolutely necessary. Draga Zec and Jasmina Moskovljevic made the updating.
The most conspicuous change had been made in the case of verbs. The initial system of coding did not specify verb complements. In the updated version verb complements at all levels were introduced as distinct codes.
Another major change was made in the case of numbers. The updated version is somewhat simpler and adjusted to the current attitude in the filed.
The updated system of coding we do not consider to be final. It could be expected that in the course of using Corpus new problems may emerge that may require additional changes and modifications.
